Hey, I'm Kelly!

I’ve been a certified personal trainer for over 14 years. However, I didn’t decide to make health and fitness a full-time career until I was laid off from my systems engineering position for a government contractor. I was pregnant and had a 1-year-old at the time, so there was no chance that I would have stepped away from a stable position at a Fortune 500 with a guaranteed paycheck unless I was forced to so. But it ended up being tremendous blessing because now I get to do what I love and what I do best: help people learn to live a truly healthy lifestyle!

I started Rise Fitness with an initial focus on physical fitness. However, as I worked on  improving my own mental health, as well as watching so many clients  engage in unhealthy habits even after losing weight and getting “in-shape,” I realized that being truly healthy was so much more than just being physically fit. So I decided to pursue a certification as a health and wellness coach; allowing me to be skilled in addressing the whole person and help him/her achieve true wellness in every aspect of life. Over the course of my health and wellness career, I have  helped hundreds of individuals improve their physical fitness, eating habits, stress management, sleep hygiene and overall health through personal training, fitness and nutrition counseling, health coaching, group fitness classes, healthy cooking classes and wellness workshops.
